The Ornamentals, Landscape and Turf Certificate offers a selection of graduate courses focusing on the turf and landscape aspects of horticulture. Core courses provide a solid science background, enabling students to better understand how to manage turf and ornamental areas. This basic knowledge is then interwoven with situation-specific disease, weed and insect classes to help practitioners advance their management knowledge. This certificate is designed for Extension horticulturists; golf course superintendents; municipal parks employees; landscape maintenance professionals; and individuals working in nursery/landscape-oriented garden centers.
The department is able to offer these three certificates as a member of the AG*IDEA Consortium. Admission requirements include five pre-requisites, three letters of reference, a letter of intent, resume, vertification of English proficiency, and a $50 application fee.
