Description: This online module is ideal for learners in agronomy, seed, agribusiness, and other agriculture professions who desire a basic understanding of how genetics is applied to plant improvement or those who want to gain more knowledge in plant breeding. This module will present the goals for plant improvement and how plant breeders apply theories and methods to make genetic improvements.
Prerequisites: A previous genetics course is strongly recommended.

Course Requirements & Materials:
- Technical Requirements: Access to high-speed Internet and email with up-to-date browsers and the ability to view videos (recommended browsers are Firefox, Chrome, and Safari)
- Textbook: Readings and materials will be uploaded to the Extension Foundation online platform. The optional textbook is Plant Breeding and Cultivar Development by Singh et al. ISBN: 9780128175637.
